After the announcement last December of Kristen Stewart being cast as the new face of Chanel, many (including myself) couldn’t understand how this puzzle would come together. Maybe it was because the combination of Chanel and a collection inspired by cowboys was already confusing, that the addition of a moody Kristen seemed sacrilegious.
But now that the first shots have come through of Kristen in the Pre Fall campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself, I understand why she was chosen to represent this collection and the modern day Chanel customer. Her attitude helps to take the clothing to another level with her bad girl glare making it all seem less costumey and more authentic.
Lesson learnt, we should always trust Monsieur Lagerfeld judgment!
