Seek and ye shall find. As nice as this statement of motivation is, when is enough searching enough? I’ve spent countless days throughout the year trying to discover the ultimate lust worthy garment, that one piece to rule them all.
But the older I get, the less patience I have. I don’t want to scour shops trying on pieces and I don’t want to trawl online trying to guess how fabrics feel. So with this in mind, I took a stance and decided to make what I couldn’t find.
I love grey, it’s such a practical and adaptable colour. It also has a real sense of casualness that black doesn’t have and not trusting myself to wear white, grey has become a frequent choice and an obsession of mine.
By contrasting the everyday basic grey sweatshirt fabric against something more sophisticated and impractical like black leather, I like to think I’ve created something that’s turning luxury on its head.
Now I just need to create a summer version.
