I love the new AW14 Moschino campaign. The combination of Linda Evangelista with the McDonalds themed collection is brilliant in that this supermodel has probably never eaten french fries in her life.
Whether intentional or not, it really highlights the fast fashion attitude of the consumer today. With pre and resort collections almost non existent 5 years ago except for the French power houses, our eyes are now much bigger than our wardrobes.
As great as it is, it does feel a bit disconnected from the actual celebrity customers who are wearing the collection. The campaign is far more sophisticated than the Rita Oras, Katy Perrys and Rihannas that have been clambering over each other just to get the comical phone cases… But alas, I just can’t fault the equation of Linda, Jeremy and Moschino.
