While it’s no Kim and Kanye Vogue scandal, I’m sure Vogue Russia’s July cover is sure to make a few people sweat thanks to its athletic inspired shoot. Since the first ever issue in 1892, Vogue has been catering to an elitist lifestyle highlighting the finest art, food and of course fashion. But where does that leave sportswear?
With sports luxe and casual wear becoming so prominent in day to day wear, It was only a matter of time before we saw a luxury magazine like Vogue embrace what is more than just a trend, it’s a lifestyle. Featuring Sam Rollinson wearing a Moschino sports bra type top for the July issue, it seems a tad odd to select a model who doesn’t particularly look that athletic, but then maybe that’s the point.
After all, it literally is the trend anyone can buy into without breaking a sweat or the bank. But does that mean it should have a place in Vogue?
