If you ever needed proof that Nicolas Ghesquière is the current ‘it boy’ of the fashion world, then look no further. It’s finally arrived… Welcome to Nicolas Ghesquière’s debut fashion campaign for Louis Vuitton. Taking luxury to a new level, Nicolas Ghesquière’s enlisted not one but three photographers for the project dubbed “Series 1” to break the mold of fashion campaigns, the imagery is presented in an artistic format rather than the traditional advertisements that we are so familiar with.
Combining the talents of Bruce Weber, Annie Leibovitz and Juergen Teller, the photographers were given free reign to interpret the AW14 collection with their unique visual signature. Resulting in a “fashion gallery”, the AW14 campaign features the iconic French house’s four “contemporary heroines” — actress Charlotte Gainsbourg and models Liya Kebede, Freja Beha Erichsen and Jean Campbell.
Leaving the ‘Marc Jacobs Louis Vuitton’ behind, Ghesquière brings the brand into a new light where it’s cooler, younger and if it’s possible, even more luxurious. If this is just the beginning of Nicolas Ghesquière’s vision for Louis Vuitton, I can’t wait to see what his next project is!
