Small Success…

Joan Smalls models in Missoni's Autumn/Winter 2014 campaignAlthough not a house hold name yet, Joan Smalls has been ranked the number 1 model in the world since September 2012, a rare feat for someone who had only been modeling for 5 years. Beginning in 2007, Joan Smalls has quickly risen to the top of the industry thanks to to back campaigns Fendi, Givenchy and Chanel and walking for Marc Jacobs, Prada and Tom Ford in international fashion shows, leading to the media proclaiming her as one of “The New Supers” alongside Lara Stone and Karlie Kloss.

Adding another campaign that runs more like a magazine editorial than an advertisement to her already extensive portfolio, Joan Small stars in Missoni’s AW14 story that sees artist and photographer Viviane Sassen return once again to collaborate with Missoni for the new season. Symbolising the aspirations, energy and imaginative vitality of the iconic Italian house so well known for its colourful knitwear designs, the daydream like scenes filled with abstract shapes and figures really pop against the ruins of an ancient amphitheater.
