With London Fashion Week a few days away, I have to admit there is one show I’m looking forward to seeing more than any other, J.W. Anderson. Know for his androgynous aesthetic, J.W.Anderson has been celebrated since launching his eponymous menswear collection in 2008. Following this with a womenswear line in 2010, the Irish designer has continued to make a name for himself by collaborating with Topshop, Versus and ultimately becoming creative director of Loewe all by the age of 30.
And it’s easy to see why he is so celebrated, after having had the pleasure of attending his SS11 show which was also my first ever London Fashion Week experience, I was instantly mesmerised by his approach to menswear through cuts, fabrications and silhouettes… And not to mention those Swarovski crystal toe cap boots!
After falling ill midweek, I decided I need something to give me a boost and put me on the road to recovery. While some people might head to a doctor or order in chicken soup, I went straight online and purchased a J.W. Anderson heavy cotton top with wool flocking. And I have to say, as soon as I got my hands on it I could feel a full recovery coming on… Who says alternative medicine doesn’t work?
