Pursuit Of Youth

No matter where you turn, fashion is obsessed with youth. In an industry where we use children to sell products to grown ups, it seems odd that the brand’s chosen spokesperson probably can’t afford the product that they’re promoting. But since the backlash in 2011 when Marc Jacobs cast a 13-year-old Elle Fanning for his label and Miuccia Prada cast a 14-year-old Hailee Steinfield for the Miu Miu campaign, there seems to be a new crop of models who are of age but don’t look it.

Not looking a day over 15, the ‘boy model’ has quickly made a name for himself after Mert & Marcus cast him in the infamous Versace chaps AW14 campaign. And while he does look fantastic in the campaign, he isn’t exactly the stereotypical Versace model – bronzed, musclebound and sensual.
