Isn’t that just the way life goes, as you are preparing for the arrival of summer and all the bountiful gifts it promises, they are snatched away in a split second. But then that is what I love about British weather, you get to enjoy four seasons in one day, you just have to be prepared for it… But alas I was not. After being offered a taste of what was to come with sunny warm days, I decided to make a trip to Brighton… but of course nothing goes to plan like the weather dropping to 11 degrees.
Luckily I had dry cleaning in the car so managed to survive the sudden drop in temperature, but the real saviour of the day had to be my Balenciaga sunglasses. Just in the same way that Karl Lagerfeld likes his iconic sunglasses “to see and not to be observed”, I basically wear sunglasses when traveling so as to not be caught staring at buildings or people like a common gawking tourist. Like Grace Coddington says in the September Issue, “always keep your eyes open, keep watching – because whatever you see can inspire you” a coat might warm your body but a graffitied wall can ignite your imagination. And besides, everything just looks better through Balenciaga eyes.
