Living In The Shade…

Having grown up in Australia where certain elements of fashion don’t exist (no fur, no leather, no hemlines that go below the knee), I managed to master one fashion accessory above any other thanks to the endless abundance of sunshine, sunglasses. Born out of necessity and dating back to the 12th century, sunglasses boast many appealing features for the everyday man like protection from the elements, sensory deprivation and the shutting out of light. But the fashion pack have long been allured by an entirely different reason, the ability to conceal ones facial expressions and emotions from the public eye.

Celine City SunglassesThanks to industry icons like Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour who are really seen without their shades, the front row of any fashion show is a sea of expressionless robots all trying to pull off their best poker faces… And I’m not that different. Never one to shy away from expressing my obsession and admiration for Celine eyewear, I simply couldn’t go through another hot Summer without another pair. Whether they are protecting me from the blaring morning sun or the glaring judgemental eyes of when I’m at my most vulnerable, I’ll be wearing these all black Celine City sunglasses 24/7… I guess that is what you call living in the shade.
