Since Karl Lagerfeld sent a pair of Couture sneakers down the SS14 Chanel runway ultimately stamping his approval on the trend, sneakers have become a huge business for luxury fashion houses who normally wouldn’t of touch a market that was saturated and ruled by Adidas, Nike and Reebok. So whether you are into hightops or lowtops, you can’t deny that sneakers have cemented themselves at the forefront of fashion while other traditional accessories like bags, hats and eyewear have declined in sales. So it is no surprise to see dedicated editorials like Sneakers by Milan Vukmirovic featuring male model James Norley photographed in half naked in bed in a variety of footwear from Givenchy, Adidas and Pierre Hardy for issue 4 of Fashion For Men that also features the other booming menswear market of the moment, underwear. So if you weren’t tempted to wear sneakers before, maybe this shoot will tempt you.
