Two’s Company

They say two heads are better than one, what one might be able to create, two might be able to master. Which is maybe why fashion loves the idea of a creative duo. Celebrating double acts like Dsquared2, Mert & Marcus, The Olsen Twins and Proenza Schouler, the industry (and the customer) has long embraced the double dose of creative brain power these duos bring. So while the idea of working with one’s family might seem challenging, others reveal in the unique creating process it can offer like father and son duo Joe and Charlie Casely-Hayford.

Launching their label for the Spring/Summer 2009 collections, Casely-Hayford was created as a new luxury menswear brand founded on both father and son’s technical tailoring and contemporary cool designs – creating a fusion of modern English style that transcends age. And it’s this style that sees them as one of the highlights in the London Collections: Mens calendar this January where they will no doubt offer up more mastered wardrobe staples that feature their contemporary twist just like their AW15 collection before. But I guess we will just have to wait till LC:M to see what they have mastered this season!
