Sometimes in life we need things literally spelled out for us in order to understand them, and other times we are lucky enough to see something and make our own interpretation of what it could be. This aspect is probably my favourite part of fashion, clothing that is surrounded in a mystery and gives not just the gift of being visually appealing but also offers the wearer a piece of art that they can translate themselves. Which is what probably drew me to the Italian brand Cerruti 1881 and its knits with their chaotic scribble like patterns that reminded me of Jackson Pollock’s fractal like paintings. Famed for their abstract nature that didn’t surrender its subject matter upon first glance, Jackson Pollock’s works were also left opened for individuals to interpret his messy drip like works for themselves. So whether t’s fashion or not, just because something looks messy, chaotic or even complex, that doesn’t mean their isn’t beauty amongst it, you just have to look for it yourself.
