Self acceptance, it’s probably most necessary skill that one must have when entering fashion. You have to know who and what you are and love it when you are surrounded all day by endlessly beautiful models with glowing skin and hard abs… You just can’t look at these specimens all day and then go home and cry all night. While I’ve learnt to accept the things that I can’t change and embraced who I am, there is one male model that makes me want to be a better version of myself, Ton Heukels.
While I’ve always admired him, it wasn’t till I saw his latest editorial by James White for Dsection Magazine that I realised how much I want to be him, I mean who else looks that cool with beach hair and sequins? No one really. Which is maybe why I like him so much, there is only one Ton Heukels and that’s the way the fashion gods (Anna Wintour) wants it.
