Sometimes a trend comes up in fashion and just doesn’t leave. It seeps into your wardrobe and slowly grows from a novelty to a normality. Just look at ‘sport luxe’ which 6 years ago was one of the hottest trends but has quickly developed a cult following that allowed it to evolve into a permanent aesthetic. Although I do love a bit of sport luxe, for me it is trousers. After a decade of wearing my uniform of skinny jeans particularly a waxed or coated variety, I have branched out and embraced straight and wide leg trousers. While trousers have been getting looser over the last few seasons, SS16 and AW16 are all about those extra 6 inches, width really does count right now. But never before have I desired the space that these baggy navy Dries Van Noten satin boxing trousers offer… I guess we just all need a little room to move.
