Rewind back 4 years ago and and I can tell you where 90% of my money went – Givenchy. Before Kim Kardashian was starting to abuse it and just as Kanye was starting to use it, I only had eyes for one designer and that was Riccardo Tisci. Whether he was championing leather trousers or neoprene sweatshirts, I was obsessed and lusted after his dark romantic aesthetic. Fast forward to now and I barely look at his collections twice. I never bought into the Rottweiler designs then and I’m certainly not going to now (you can actually still buy them)… But when you push all the shock factor pieces and commercial restraints aside, there are still some amazing designs that don’t look like something Justin Bieber or Kendall Jenner would wear. While his striped designs aren’t new (they were heavily used in the SS14 collection) they do feel fresh once again perfectly timed for summer in bold blue hues on a Columbian cut t-shirt… So although I’m not in lust anymore with Givenchy, I am still in love.
