Instant. Is there truly one word better to describe the current generation’s mentality? Literally living their lives for instant gratification where they have to have everything on demand. The very notion of having to wait is an instant turn off because they have for too long been offered, promoted and marketed products that remove something as unless and unnecessary as delays… And I should know, I am one of them. Whether it is fashion available to purchase straight of the catwalk or music being released instantly the second it is played, it feels like the art of teasing has been removed… Sadly it just feels like subtle has been displaced and replaced by quick fix and quick fire.
But not everyone has lost the ability to tease. On one hot summer day last week, I made my way to the very chic experimental restaurant Carousel to join Danish watch and accessory brand Skagen for an intimate and delicious dinner to celebrate their upcoming series of launches for the new season… A real taster of the amazing technical pieces like Skagen Connected and Blue Inc – two incredible and stylish watches for Fall, as well as beautifully crafted bags and small leather goods, and sleek jewellery designs they currently have to offer but more importantly a sneak peeks of what’s to come from Skagen that will really catch your attention and imagination. But that’s the work of a good tease, they leave you wanting more. And you know what they say about those who wait, good things will come to them. So just be patience.
