If there is one thing I love to do it, it has to be traveling. I love the thrill of discovering something new and letting your senses take in the sights and sounds for that very first time. But just as much as I enjoy the actual destination, I equally enjoy the packing experience – working out the potential weather situation, building outfits and then reducing them so that you can actually fit everything you love into one suitcase. Which usually ends up being my most loved things, the item I’m most excited about that season and what I just can’t be without. Like these McQ Alexander McQueen trousers I picked up from Harvey Nichols the day before I left, the ultimate lightweight dark stovepipe trouser. But even more special has to be my obsession with Gucci and their motif ‘L’Aveugle Par Amour’ pieces like this embroidered mesh top from Matches Fashion. Roughly translating to ‘Blind For Love’, this simple little phrase is something I’ve written about before thanks to my bee sweatshirt I picked up last winter and its hefty price tag I had to turn a blind eye to (as you do for a loved one). But this piece just feels different – lighter, sportier and more modern which is probably how it ended up being the first thing I packed for a Venetian weekend. And while I’d never try to put practical and embroidered mesh top in the same love note, I do have to say it practical was the perfect piece to take for 26 degree weather. No justification for my love needed.
