If there is one thing I live my life around, then it has to be clothes, in fact I live more around image than just clothes. I even pick the food I’ll eat that day based around what I’m wearing as we all know cheese burgers and cashmere do not mix. But I have to admit, while I’m super controlling about my outfit, hair, bag and sunglasses, I just don’t understand shoes. With every outfit they are just the last element I think about. Maybe it’s because we live in a three quarter format world where we just don’t get to fit all of our flair into a full view. I mean how recently was it that Instagram decided to think outside of the box and expand our images beyond a square?
But if there was anyone that was going to make me realise the importance of statement shoes and get me out of a sea of Common Projects and Adidas trainers, it had to be Alessandro Michele and his beautiful designs for Gucci. Having attended an Italian wedding recently which required a traditional suit (navy Paul Smith of course) I felt it was my duty to still show a bit of personality without being disrespectful. Which is exactly how these snake embroidered leather loafers from the AW16 Gucci collection ended up on my feet… And that’s exactly where they will stay. Now I’m all feet first, outfit last.
Embroidered leather loafers Gucci, coat Paul Smith, shirt Uniqlo, t-shirt COS, trousers Acne Studios, watch Skagen, sunglasses Celine.
