Practically Perfect…

If there is one thing I am not, it is practical. I don’t believe in silly notions like sensible clothing or appropriate attire. What is the point of conforming when we are taught our whole lives to ‘standout from the pack’ and be ‘a individual’ so why would I want to blend in with the crowd just because there is a hurricane? Well that might be a tad dramatic but I did recently over the festive period find myself in the remote Scottish highlands of Skye being battered by wild winds and blustery snow. Having a slight feeling before leaving London that this might be the case, I decided perhaps it was time to invest in a coat at least (shoes are still a different story) that would keep me high and dry and still looking stylish. Which is exactly how I ended up in Harvey Nichols at the last minute purchasing a Nicolai coat from Pajar for my Christmas adventures. The perfect barrier between myself and the elements, the Canadian outerwear brand’s unquestionable quality helps to make their designs durable, eye catching but most of all super cozy and warm thanks to the sea of down and fur trims. Which is exactly what I needed for the Scottish wilds. So I guess it’s practically the most practical thing I’ve ever bought in my life which means maybe I’m a practical person now…

Your coat is just dreaming. I am absolutely jacket/coat freak, so I am not crazy about shoes or bags like women usual are- but jackets. This looks amazing. The only thing what worries me is the fur, looks so real. If it is real , I am sorry, but I change my mind about it.
    The photos are so beautiful.

I truly love that jacket with all the fur! And for your sake I hope it’s real fur as I don’t think neither you or me are those faux fur activists. Having said that about your shoes I really would have wanted to see them though, haha. Scotland is exactly as… Scottish as I imagine it to be with gorgeous, rustic castles like that and next time I urge you to take me with you! 🙂
    All the best,
    Thomas

Don’t worry, I only do real fur – as long as it is ethically treated. And Scotland is just how you described it, the perfect setting for a shoot!

I absolutely love this jacket!!!! It may be practical but it certainly stands out. I hope you had a great time in the Scottish highlands. I was back in Edinburgh for Christmas this year and had an absolute hoot. Thank you so much for sharing and happy 2017!

Damn now this is how you do a down jacket right! Giving me GOT king of the woods vibes. Don’t tell anyone that I’m a fan of real fur too! (As long as it’s ethically sourced of course)

Well, I can tell you that all of Pajar’s fur is ethical sourced and treated – it’s another reason that won me over!

How did you like Scotland? You must have caught it during the worst of the windy an stormy weather? Although it’s always stormy here one minute and sunny the next. Glasgow is very temperamental!

You do have to think practicality in Scotland though. For instance I love wearing super long flared denim but the hems would get wet up to my knees as soon as I stepped outside. Suede in the rain is also not a good combo. Saying that – your jacket is AMAZING! Great choice and you still stand out, even if you feel practical 😉
