Block Out…

Diana Vreeland once declared ‘the eye has to travel’. And I couldn’t agree with her more, as a visual person I can get bored very easily of seeing the same view. I need that refresh that only seasonal changes or travels can produce. And there really is nothing better than seeing something fresh, letting your eyes run over a new view scanning and absorbing details and colours you haven’t seen before. It just sends my brain into over drive conjuring up new scenes, stories and stylings. But one of the thing I can never travel without is a good pair of sunglasses (or four styles like I took on my last trip away). Come rain, come shine, I’ll find any excuse to wear sunglasses but recently I’ve been lucky enough to have experienced some sunny weather while out in Lisbon giving my the perfect opportunity to wear my current favourite Christian Dior DiorSplit style with ease. Turning the classic aviator style on its head and injecting a little minimal futurism, Dior just delivers another style that blocks out the boring and lets in the beauty. And with weather like this why would you want to miss the beauty?

Those Dior sunglasses are so chic! I feel the same way about travel and seasons. I’m in constant need of visual stimulation too! fun fact I had my flight and hotel reservations booked for my first trip to Lisbon 6 years ago but I had to cancel it out of my travel itinerary due to a huge snow storm that delayed my flight for 2 days! Since then I’ve been itching to go again…but maybe this time I’ll wait til it’s sunny out. =)

Luke, you’re scarily close to perfection here. I mean you tick off every box on my check list beginning with stripes and ending with gorgeous doors as a backdrop. Then you actually introduce a pair of aviators that would replace my Guccis which I forgot on a train and guess if they ever made it to the lost and found section… Thanks for the tip and hopefully you won’t mind me being a copy cat when I head over to Dior for these.

    xx Thomas
