If there was one thing I’ve taken away from any SS17 fashion interview it would have to be Lanvin’s Lucas Ossendrijver when he uttered the words “I decided to be creative. There’s not much else I can do.” In the time and space we are in where terrorism, war, recession and other pointless tragedies have become normalised, it feels like we have lost our balance and partially accepted destruction, hate and fear. What else can we do but fall back on our basic functions for some self-imposed normality. But maybe normal isn’t what we really need, not to sound cliché but what we really need is more love. Which is probably why I gravitated towards the SS17 Lanvin collection regardless of what Lucas said thanks to its humours and romantic motifs of cupid’s arrows, stars, love poems and roses across a variety of garments. As someone who literally doesn’t wear their heart on their sleeve, perhaps a little romance and passion is exactly what I need in my fashion to bring some love and light in to my daily life when the world feels so dark. Maybe a little cupid arrow could point us all in the right direction.

It’s not cliche, buddy. We could all use some additional love!! I’m guessing spring has finally sprung in London!?
All you need is love and Lanvin! I love embroidery lately and the arrows along with the large belt buckle are giving me very chic western vibes. love it all!
Those words , ” I decided to create, there’s not much else I could do.” Obsessed. Seriously that could be my life mantra. Through teaching and life as a wife , mom , daughter , friend , writer and so on it’s how I live. How I get through it all and I always feel additional love is necessary! Not cliche. This look is creatively superb ! The belt and the embroidery are amazing!
Definitely don’t think it’s cliche either! Love the look!
I’m sooo jealous! Seriously I need Lanvin in my life!!
I agree about love… Stunning look and location as always! Love the belt!
Lucas has a sober stand on what he as a designer can do and that’s unfortunately what the world has come to. There’s nothing cliché about love and I’m all for spreading more of it to fight the darkness, whether it is done by wearing some (literally) like you do here, giving a nice compliment to a stranger or just a simple smile directed towards someone out on town I’m all for making the world a better place by small steps.
Obsessed with the styling! Love the white long sleeve underneath – adds the right contrast! PS the bridge looks like one we have in Glasgow 🙂
Awesome outfit, I love this style, thank you for sharing!!!
