Let me start off first by reinforcing that I have never claimed to be a writer, if I am anything at all then I’m just a humble wearer. Alas I know clothes not words. And for lack of better words I feel that for far too long we have been indulging in a little fashion fantasy but haven’t been able to express my exact conflicting feelings for the sweetness of the current aesthetic until a certain male designer summed it up in a interview this week when they described the current climate as ‘sugary’. How true. Everything at the moment just feels so cute, delicate and sweet – thanks in part to Gucci’s massive influence on the industry over the last 3 years with its feminine tinged vibes. But that doesn’t mean I’m against a little lace or pastels or in this case pink stripes by Stella McCartney, I just think maybe it’s time for a little balance so that things don’t feel so artificial and contrived. Why can’t we have a little more naturalness? After all, don’t forget too much sugar is not good for anyone.

I know exactly what you mean about “sugary”! And as always your outfit is so on point it’s not even fair! Especially the Celine sunnies!
I absolutely beg to differ! You totally ARE a writer and express yourself SO well! But I do agree about the ‘sugary’ vibes and definitely balance is in order! This look is superb !!! Everything about is pure class!!
After reading your post I still stick to what I said on Instagram. 🙂 You say you’re not a writer, alas (sic!), you are. Your words were like pouring honey on a sugar coated industry as you described it and there’s a fine line between getting a visit from the tooth fairy and being sweet, yet fashionable, which is exactly what you are here in the stripes from Stella.

Love the words and adore the shirt… There’s a lot of “cuteness” around just now with the 90s pop influences but I don’t think you’ll ever overdo it. Awesome post!
