They say home is not a place but a feeling. And I couldn’t agree more. While I love the notion of travel and the privilege of seeing new and inspiring sights, there is nothing like the feeling of returning to the familiar and having that sense of being home. I can’t help but get that way about Paris, if I’ve said it once, then I’m sure I’ve said it a million times, it might just be the most beautiful city in the world. No other place can compete for my attention the way Paris does. And after countless visits it has started to feel very comfortable – even if I can’t speak or read the language it has become to feel like a second home. And just like at home, I like to surround myself with the best comforts I can get my hands on (like a giant fluffy bathrobe).
Which is how I found myself staying at the incredibly chic and impeccable styled Le Roch Hotel & Spa on a recent trip to the French capital. Boutique in feel but with all the facilities of a sprawling residence (the pool and spa are definitely worth the visits alone!), I have to honestly say that it might just be one of the best stays I’ve ever experienced at a hotel thanks to the incredibly dedicated and friendly staff and the immaculate interior design of the 19th century building by Sarah Lavoine. After spending a long day walking in the cold air, seeing the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition and decadent meals at Interaires and Verjus there really was no better feeling than knowing I was only a few minutes from the hotel where I could sit by the open fire and revive or head to my suite with my own steam room to relax in or just get lost in my a massive comfortable bed and recharge (seriously, you could get lost in that bed). And that’s what home is for me, a feeling of peace, a sanctuary to escape from the world and be able to hit restart for another day of adventures. Which makes Le Roch Hotel my new home away from home.

There really is no place like home, unless of course you’re staying at some place as chic as this! Love the monogrammed bathroom too! Such a classy touch!
I absolutely love how you described what home is – as a sanctuary- and these pictures are beyond amazing! The different captures of the gorgeous amenities belong in a lux travel/ fashion mag!!
As an expat I’m somewhat lost in the concept of what home is, but one of the places I truly with all my heart call home is Paris. Just like you I’ve been there countless times and for my next stay in a few weeks from now I’ll check out Le Roch Hotel and Spa as it seems like everything you’d need in a hotel!
Love a good robe situation. Need a staycation asap.
