Fantasy, where did it all go? It seems like with fashion’s current obsession of reflecting the political climate whether it be Trump or Weinstein, that we have lost a little magic. Don’t get me wrong though, I think it is great to have injustices and issues trickle into fashion, it opens up discussions and removes certain stigmas but sometimes I do just want to escape from the news and get lost amongst all the pretty things. So thank god for Gucci! Just when I was starting to lose my faith in fantasy Gucci releases their Spring/Summer 2018 campaign by Spanish surreal artist and fashion illustrator Ignasi Monreal. Dripping in mythological imagery and referencing both pop culture and past famous artworks, the artworks looks like a fairytale albeit with more stylish clothes – I mean who won’t want to be saved by a knight in shining armour accessorised with a Gucci tote?
YESSS! I have been obsessed with those Gucci illustrations since they came out! They are so darn good eh?
