Cooling Off…

They say if you can’t take the heat then you better get out of the kitchen. Apply that logic to the current heatwave in London right now and you can see why I had no choice but to get out of the kitchen and as fast as possible. Some people might say that I’m a quitter but as an Australian I can tell you I find this weather incredibly uncomfortable and frustrating, I just need to cool off. Packing my bags and fleeing the sweltering city which seems to be abundant with everything except air conditioning and swimming pools, I retreated to the coastlines of Scotland with it’s more tolerable weather and stunning views which is how I’ve come to find myself chilling out on a secluded beach on The Isle of Mull with no one else but the two of us and the soft summery rays, crystal clear water and salty air. Luckily I’d packed a mix of clothing options after my last experience with Scottish weather and it’s wet and wild skies, that I was able to find a balance between a holiday wardrobe and practical wear with a Our Legacy shirt that has nods to tropical vibes (it has doodles of palm trees on it…) and a light yet bright jacket from RAINS that would keep me dry no matter what the weather brought as I spent the day strolling on the shoreline, exploring rock pools and listening to small waves lap back and forth. Which is pretty much the definition of chilled and the perfect relief from the scorched city albeit a short one. But that’s the thing with cooling off periods, sadly the never last long… until next time.
