They say when God closes a door he opens a window. While I’m not sure if I believe that life can be that simple, I do believe that when one buys a Loewe Gate bag, a new path is unlocked. Or at least that’s how things worked out for me. After being obsessed with Jonathan Anderson’s creations at the Spanish leather house for what seems like an eternity and surrounding myself with multiple Puzzle bags and a Hammock here and there, I felt like it is was time for something smaller, lighter and casual as I was settling down for the year while the seasons changing from Summer to Autumn. But just like that, as Summer came to a close a last minute adventure fell into my lap just as the Gate bag hung effortlessly across my body and I found myself basking in the French Rivera. While mentally I’d already started to unpack my Autumnal wardrobe, physically I was in 30 degree weather that begged for oversized shirts, shades and the absolute Summer essential – Nike running shorts. The ultimate mix of high and low but the perfect combination for climbing out of that Autumn window that God left open. So sure, maybe buying a Gate bag like this one with it’s gorgeous contrast detailing, structured shape and supple leather won’t have you strolling through Nice taking in the views but it will change your life as you will become the view. Maybe something’s in life can be that simple.
